NAVOICA is a Polish educational platform offering free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) taught by instructors from top universities and institutions. NAVOICA’s aim is to reach everyone who wants to learn – regardless of age and place of residence. NAVOICA was established as part of the project called "Polish MOOC", commissioned by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. National Information Processing Institute has created and is constantly developing the platform technologically. Until July 15, 2020, the content operator was the Foundation of Young Science. The Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland supports this initiative institutionally. The "Polish MOOC" project is of a non-commercial nature.

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education with headquarters in Warsaw, Wspólna 1/3.

At present, Navoica offers only open online courses. We do not rule out the possibility that one day courses will be included in universities’ curricula.

The name of the platform comes from Nawojka who, according to the legend, was the first female student to ever attend a university in Poland. She attended the Academy of Cracow in 15th century.

To sign up for a course, you must register and then log in to Navoica platform, search for a course and then in the course label (a tab with a description and information about the course), click on a large red button "Take a course". Bear in mind that you can only sign up for a given course when the enrolment is open.

All of the courses on Navoica are free. We do not charge for registration, enrolment, participation or issuing certificates.

No, you can attend courses regardless of your age, education and professional status. You do not have to provide any documents.

All courses are available in more than one edition, so we recommend regularly checking the course catalogue or follow our social media to learn about a course’s next editions’ dates.

Typically, enrolments for a course are open before the course start date to allow as many participants as possible to attend it. It is worth checking the start date on the course subpage.

There are no restrictions on the number of courses you can attend. However, it is worth enrolling only for as many courses as you can actually finish.

We are constantly working to expand the number of courses, so we encourage you to look at the course catalogue or follow Navoica on social media to stay up to date.

Courses on Navoica are massive – there is no limit of enrolled students. Therefore, we do not provide direct phone number nor email to contact course staffs. However, you may contact the course trainers by posting your question in the Discussion forum of every course.

If you find a substantive or technical error in the content of the course, we would appreciate you informing the course staff in the Discussion forum of the course.

Questions about the course and its content should be published in the Discussion forum of the course.

No, all of courses are held online via Navoica platform.

By default, videos in the course content are played in the highest available quality which requires higher Internet speed. You can change the quality to lower by clicking on the "Quality" button in the bottom bar and choosing a lower quality (for example, instead of HD720p choose 480p).

Completing a course and meeting all the course criteria allows you to receive an electronically generated certificate, which is also a downloadable PDF file and can be printed.

Certificates are usually generated automatically after after completing the course and reaching the passing threshold (up to 30 days after the course's end date). Information on the assessment and credit policy of a given course – including certificate generation – is included in each course label.

If the certificate has already been generated, it is available in "My Courses" under the "View course" button.

If there is an error in your name or last name, verify whether the personal data you provided during registration is correct. If you see a different type of error, contact our Help Center by sending an email at mooc_help@opi.org.pl.

All the certificates on the Navoica are electronically generated but you can download your certificate as a PDF file and print it yourself.
